You've got to love British football transfer rumors. Now the papers in the UK have Sir Alex bringing in David Villa or Fernando Torres (the latter is so highly unlikely as to ALMOST be laughable...almost).

LOL Squonkster. Rossi holds dual citizenship, but certainly considers himself Italian first. His parents are Italian immigrants and he plays in Europe (Villareal). I think it's fair to say Italians "produced" him as a field player, since his father is a soccer coach, and he played on the Parma youth team. This is another example of why the U.S. needs to have some success on the world stage...that way these types of players would see that success and WANT to play for the U.S.

Rossi was Manchester United property, and if I'm not mistaken, his contract can be re-purchased from Villareal at any time. With Ronaldo's departure, maybe it's time?

Getting back to yesterday's game...That was a total horse shit red card on Ricardo Clark. It is clear that the U.S. is not going to be getting any help from the officials. I see some improvement in the American side, but it was obvious that they missed Frankie Hejduk's attack from the right back and they simply must demand that Dempsey stop being so selfish. He doesn't have enough quality to beat a keeper like Buffon from long distance and there were a few times he had options to wide open players on the wings, but opted instead to shoot - sometimes failing to get into shooting position and wasting a chance.

Also, it's a shame the U.S. didn't capitalize on a couple beautiful setups by Donovan. Both Altidore and Bradley muffed excellent scoring chances after being sent in by Donovan in the first half. If they hit on those, they have a 3-0 lead going into the half. Oh well...looks like a third place finish in the group, unless Brazil gets 2-3 red cards.

Could be mindgames, but Real is saying they're having issues with trying to get Villa (and Ribery).
